The transition from here to there continues.
I have been encouraged by reading the story of Joseph. Talk about somebody who had a reason to be bitter with his circumstances! Yet, Joseph kept faith in his Lord through growing up with a bunch of jealous brothers, being sold into slavery and even abiding in prison for being unjustly accused. Each time, he didn’t know what was ahead but he knew God was in control.
Although my current waiting place is nothing like being in prison, I have the same confidence that God is in control and is up to something. It’s OK that I don’t know the rest of the story. I don’t want to waste this waiting period! A guy named John Waller wrote a great song that keeps coming to my mind that shares the same title as this post. The chorus goes:
While I’m waiting I will serve You
While I’m waiting I will worship
While I’m waiting I will not faint
I’ll be running the race even while I wait
You can check out all the lyrics and have a listen to the song at http://www.songlyrics.com/john-waller/while-i-m-waiting-lyrics/ That’s me! Lord, give me a bold faith for what’s ahead…and until then I will wait not with folded hands but with an active heart!
Your title here brought this song to mind….. pretty perfect…. “While I am Waiting” John Waller

Wow, what a powerful song. I had a hard time following the link, but I was able to easily find it on YouTube. It makes me think of Steven Curtis Chapman’s “Magnificent Obsession.”
