On the Clock

If you believe, as I do, that nothing happens by coincidence but everything is orchestrated by the hand of the Father then you know the value of His timing.

When I look back over the time line of my life – not the Facebook version but the real thing – it is incredible to me the involvement of divine intervention. In some ways it seems forever since I missed my bus ride home from elementary school that first day of first grade. But from God’s view it is like it was yesterday! Same thing with that Christmas I didn’t get the bike I hoped for or singing in the choir at high school graduation (By the way, I love the song, “God of the Open Air”!) or almost drowning in Burger’s Lake or cleaning the “H Pond” in college or …   You get the idea.

I really believe that God was right there with me through all of my past experiences. So why is it difficult for me at times to believe God is directing my happenings today? Hmm…

Probably because linked with TODAY is TOMORROW. And without a bold faith from Him, tomorrow can be a bit scary! I want to make right decisions TODAY that will have a positive affect on my TOMORROWS.

So, as I complete yet another online application and tweak my resume one more time and compose another cover letter, “Lord, please guide my mind and my hands. I acknowledge  that You are present and leading the way. Even in the darkness I will trust You. I believe…help Thou my unbelief!” I want to glorify God though this unique time in my life.

Tomorrow will be a great day!
