The terrain of southwest Virginia is quite different from that of my home state of Texas. There’s nothing quite as beautiful as the cascading silhouette of the Blue Ridge Mountains at sunset.
What a creation!
Pastor Charles Stanley is the one who coined the phrase “Made For the Mountains” to describe our walk through life. Filled with many mountains and valleys, our journey seems to be challenge after challenge. But it’s through the difficult challenges that we grow!
I don’t believe God made us to “twiddle our thumbs” or coast through life but rather engage in our pursuit of Him. That means being willing to climb the “mountains” that lie before us.
In the financial world we hear that the greater the investment, the greater the dividends. (Hopefully!) It’s the same in the spiritual world. At times, it may seem like a risk to do things God’s way but the “dividends” are incredible! For the believer there is no greater feeling than knowing you are in the middle of God’s will doing the thing God made you to do. Risks? Sure. But so much worth it!
So…how’s the view from where you are? Keep pressing on to the summit!
