It’s family time in Virginia Beach!
God has been so good to Katha and me – way beyond anything deserved. He has blessed us with two terrific kids and their spouses…all who love the Lord and seek to worship/serve Him. And of course, little Eden – our precious and first grandbaby! Her baby sister will arrive shortly…maybe before the anticipated December 8 date! It is a MAJOR blessing to have all the family together during this holiday season.
I am very thankful for our loving Father who has poured His grace and mercy on His children all over the globe. To think that He would be concerned with me in the midst of all creation is a sobering thought. Yet, he is! Having no job is no big deal in the eternal scheme of things. (Don’t get me wrong…I have my moments of anxiety that I must bring before the Lord for His “adjustments”.)
The first verse of today’s Psalm (24) speaks of God’s proprietorship. He owns the whole world! Even all the world’s people! Therefore, as owner He can do whatever He likes with His creation.
This week we have a national holiday with the sole purpose of thanking God for His blessings. In the midst of thanking Him for the big things I need to also remember to thank Him for the little things. It’s a good thing to take “time out” from our busy lives to give Him thanks. Remember what can happen if we neglect this exercise:
“For even though they knew God,
they did not honor Him as God or give thanks,
but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”
Romans 1:21
