Ahoy there!

I don’t know much about sailing a boat but I do know it requires a certain amount of wind. Otherwise you just sit there and wait for it…or row!

SailboatSometimes I feel like my life is a sailboat on the open sea…totally dependent on the wind of God’s mercy. He chooses where and when to send the wind and how strong its force. I am totally at His mercies and only “along for the ride” ready to serve Him at the next port…wherever that is.

I think my patience grows thin when there is no wind – only quiet. Of course, during this time the waters are calm and I know it won’t be long until the next “wave” of wind. I appreciate my role as a “sailor” in His kingdom and very grateful for His provisions.

My spirit rejoices in the calm but my flesh wants more action…more evidence that God is there and at work. Funny…He knows the perfect balance between the two.

The final destination of my voyage is clear and sure (Hallelujah!) …and each port puts me just a little bit closer.
