From here to there

A wise man or woman will seek to find God’s unique will for his/her life. God moves individuals intentionally as He goes about working His plans.

At the risk of sounding oversimplistic, may I suggest there is a reason God chooses to move a person from Point A to Point C by going through Point B. In a word: Preparation.

Traditionally, a young person will move from High School (Point A) to career (Point C) by moving through College (Point B.) Of course, there are exceptions to this route...but you know what I mean. College is a time of preparation for the next years.

In God’s word we can see many times God moved individuals through a “Point B” for a season of preparation. For example:

Moses from Royalty to Red Sea via Midian.
Noah from Israelite Family to Saved From the Flood via Building the Ark.
Philip from Samaria to Caesarea via the Ethiopian.

When looking back on my life I can see there were many “Point B’s” where God prepared me for what’s ahead. I think that’s where I may be now: in a “Point B”.

“Point B’s” are important! There is much to learn and experience from the Lord that will prepare me for the road ahead. But there are also many things God wants to accomplish through me during this time: encourage people, develop my gifts, witness for Him, love my family, etc.

So, here is the setting for Katha and me in this next adventure of our lives. (1) We have sold our home in Christiansburg and are moving into a rent house in the Draper area, (2) I will work part-time at the C’burg Home Depot, (3) I plan to work part-time leading music and worship in a local church, (4) Katha will continue teaching private music lessons.

I don’t think this is our final destination but God has some things He wants us to do during these days.

So…please pray for us that we will depend on God’s strength and become more fully aware of His presence in our lives. Through it all, we purpose to trust Him…and join the Psalmist in saying:

“I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart;
I will tell of all Your wonders.
I will be glad and exult in You;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.”
Psalm 9:1-2

  1. There is much to learn at Home Depot. People like me are always looking for service and someone who can help. God’s continued blessings upon you both at “Point B.” šŸ™‚

  2. Praying for you both during this “season.” Oh the people He’s placed/will place on your path will surely be blessed, grown, and changed by Him through your service and presence!
