HALT!

Sometimes I make poor decisions.

There are times when I feel good, the weather is warm and beautiful, everything is “going my way”. I can almost hear those Disney animated blue birds whistling their happy-go-lucky song. I am poised and ready to make right decisions for the rest of my life.

But…their are other times when I fail. And I wonder why.

I must remember, no matter what the circumstances, there is spiritual warfare constantly going on around me. God’s Word describes Satan as a roaring lion who is always looking for an opportunity to attack.

Dr. Charles Stanley gives some clear direction about being alert to the devil’s  schemes. He uses the acostic, H.A.L.T. Be on guard for Satan’s attack when you feel HUNGRY, ANGRY, LONELY or TIRED. Makes sense, doesn’t it? When I am not at the top of my game, my weaknesses are exposed and can be exploited by the evil one.
