In good company with Lebron

I loved serving in Music Ministry.

From Texas to Georgia to Virginia, God showered me and my family with incredible experiences and wonderful relationships.

A very real a2 mennd practical part of my job involved listening…whether while learning new worship songs, counseling or leading worship. But, unfortunately, many things we take for granted…and my hearing fell into that category.

The last few years of my ministry brought some hearing issues to the forefront – namely the loss of some lower frequencies in one ear. At that time my ENT doctor didn’t seem to think it would get better or worse. So I learned to deal with it.

Now, I recently experienced some pretty severe Vertigo (accompanied with some yukky side symptoms) that slowed me down over the Christmas break. After some tests and questions, my doctor has diagnosed my case as Meniere’s Disease…which is an issue affecting the inner ear. (Sort of like when you got off the spinner thing on the playground.)

Evidently, I am in some pretty good company with others dealing with Meniere’s such as Kristin Chenoweth, Nicolas Cage and Lebron James.

It comes and goes. The kicker is…you never know when it is going to hit. Enter: greater dependence on the Lord.

I am in a mode of literally taking things one day at a time. He IS my rock. He IS my fortress. He IS my deliverer.

No longer do I take my non-dizzy times for granted. And I have never been closer to Him!
