Changing seasons

Wow! It’s windy today in Virginia Beach!

It’s moving toward spring but we aren’t quite there yet. Looks like there is still a bit of cold weather ahead.

Have you noticed how everybodyseasons
seems to have a favorite season? It’s not uncommon to hear, “I just love winter with all the cold weather, sweaters, food, etc” or “I can’t wait til summer! I am so tired of all the cold and ready to go to the beach!” or “Spring is the most beautiful time of year with all the trees budding and flowers blossoming. It’s great to see all the ‘newness’ coming forth!” or “There’s nothing like fall when trees are losing their leaves and there is a chill in the air for football and fall festivals!”

Life, too, certainly has its “seasons” that carry us through the years.

I enjoyed my childhood season growing up in Ft. Worth, Texas. Then my college years in Brownwood, Texas. I had a season of family growth by marrying my beautiful wife and raising our two precious children. That led us to a wonderful lengthy season of ministry in local churches. Now, with grandkids in the mix, I find myself in another exciting season.

Though seasons may come and go, God continues His work in my life. The key to enjoying the season is to enjoy HIM in the season!

“Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee,
‘How great Thou art!'”
