Ever seen a dog chase after a speeding car only to reach the end of its chain and be jerked off its feet?
Sometimes I feel like God is jerking my chain.
Just when I think God is clearly leading me in a certain area, things suddenly come to a screeching halt. Why is that?
It’s tempting to step outside of “spirit walking” and step into “flesh walking”. As long as I walk in the flesh I will never understand God’s purposes. But if I choose to walk in the Spirit, things become clearer.
In the flesh, my perspective is, “It’s all about me.” In the Spirit my perspective is, “It’s all about Him.”
In the flesh, my perspective is, “Why me?” In the Spirit, my perspective is, “Why not me?”
In the flesh, my perspective focuses on my little world. In the spirit, my perspective focuses on His kingdom enterprise.
So…as much as it may hurt at the time, I can trust the Lord with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding.
