Typically, as a person looks for a new job, he/she is concerned about the entire salary package…including benefits.
Have you ever thought about the benefits of being a believer? Psalm 103 has a whole list.
Throughout the Psalm, the Psalmist is enjoying some self-talk; a “conversation” between himself and his soul. He starts with giving praise to the Lord, then- BAM! He begins to list all the many terrific benefits of belonging to God…some of which are forgiveness, healing, redemption and compassion.
The big difference between the benefits listed in Psalm 103 and of a prospective employer is the duration. The employer’s benefits are only for a season. God’s benefits are eternal. Hmmm. I wonder which is the greater?
