Our American culture enjoys promoting New Year’s Resolutions at the beginning of each year.
It’s a bit late (or early!) for New Year’s Resolutions but David wrote down some pretty impressive New Day Resolutions in the first two verses of Psalm 9:
- I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart. I must have a thankful heart in everything that comes my way. Even the unpleasant stuff.
- I will tell of all Your wonders. I must not keep silent when given an opportunity to brag on the Lord. His activity is all around me.
- I will be glad and exult in You. It’s a predetermined decision that I have a joyful heart in all circumstances because of who He is in my life.
- I will sing to Your name, O Most High. The Lord has given me a voice and a song for a purpose! He deserves my highest praise. Sometimes it may not be appropriate in my surroundings to sing on the outside but I can certainly sing to Him on the inside!
If I start each day with an attitude of these four resolutions, it makes a difference in my perspective to life.
And it doesn’t require watching the ball drop in Times Square!
