In the various venues of entertainment there is a special area called the Green Room.
No one seems to know exactly where the name came from. One of the best explanations comes from theatres of long ago in England where there was no particular room in which the actors could wait for their entrances. So they would step out the back door where they could relax and wait on the village green until time to go onstage. The word “Green”carried over into the theatre vocabulary.
No one really knows where the term Green Room comes from but one thing is sure…it is a place of waiting and preparation for one’s performance entrance.
In my life, this time on earth is a sort of “Green Room” while I wait and prepare for my entrance into the grand “performance” of Heaven. As I study my “script” (God’s Word – the Bible) the Lord directs my “blocking” (circumstances) to enhance the “role” (purpose) He has for me.
One day, I will conclude my “Final Dress Rehearsal” (life) after which I will gratefully and humbly step onto the “stage” (the actual presence of God) for that eternal presentation.
“Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”
