Growing up in Ft. Worth, Texas, one of the traditional events that we attended each year was the Stock Show that was held in conjunction with the annual Rodeo.
After looking at the stock entries for the competition, it was always fun to visit the Midway where all types of very unhealthy foods were available for purchase along with all sorts of fascinating rides, shows and games.
One of the fun activities of the Midway was the House of Mirrors. The idea was to walk through the entrance to the house and try to find the exit. Making your way through mirror-lined walls, what looked to be a hallway often turned out to be a wall. This happened time after time. But one kept searching for the route as if in a giant maze.
Finally, after reaching the destination (the exit) I would give a sigh of relief that I had successfully navigated the challenge.
When “navigating” the journey of life, I am very grateful for God’s Word that points the way to the destination. Though sometimes I get confused and bump into “mirrored” walls, He is there to redirect my path and point me in the right way.
When I realize that I am on the right path my “Oh, me” experience turns into “Yee Hah!”
