Frozen – not the Disney version

We’ve had a lot of snow for Virgina Beach!

Katha and I moved here from Christiansburg (on the other side of the mountains) where we recieved a LOT of snow each winter.

The snow is beautiful to look at if you can stay indoors but if necessity takes you onto the roads, some of the bloom definitely falls from the rose.

The problem around here is that Virginia Beach doesn’t seem to have enough adequate equipment to remove the snow – leaving drivers to fend for themselves on mostly snow/slush covered streets.

Everyone is relieved when the temp rises above freezing so the thaw process can begin.

Spiritually speaking, some people’s hearts seem to be frozen and not receptive to anything about the living God or His Word. Their hearts need to be thawed to the point of hearing God’s truth.

God is certainly able to melt frozen hearts and draw them to Himself. Look at Saul, for instance. He was “frozen” into the Law and it wasn’t until God “thawed” his heart on the Damascus road that he truly understood…then he spent the rest of his life spreading the Good News.

“God, as the Virginia Beach snows melt away, may you keep
my heart ‘thawed’ and pliable in Your hands.”
