Some days are better than others.
Years ago I heard the expression, “Some days you get the bear and other days the bear gets you!” And more recently I was told, “Some days you are the bug and other days you are the windshield.” These are other ways of saying that some days are better than others.
I must remember that the current circumstances are not the “big picture.” Sure, they affect how I feel about life at the moment but God’s plan for me is much bigger.
I must keep a long-term perspective .
Currently, there is a commercial on TV with a voice-over message that says, “Some people dread the future. Others embrace it.” That can also be said of the spiritual world.
Without fear or dread, I can embrace God’s plan for my long-term future. It is secure…and incredibly beautiful. God’s Word tells me that this life…this “story”…is not all there is. Because of Christ’s redemptive work, there is a much better day coming!
So, no matter the circumstances I can say with assurance, “This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it!”
