When God says of Himself that He is “I Am” the question surfaces that asks, “I am…what?” The answer is found in whatever my need is.
If security, He says “I am security.”
If comfort, He says “I am comfort.”
If provision, He says, “I am provision.”
Whatever my need at the time, He fills in the blank. That’s the beauty of the name, “I Am.”
And He is able to meet everyone’s needs simultaneously. Don’t try to figure it out. That’s part of what makes Him God. It’s part of His mystery.
I’m so glad Moses asked the question that continues to echo through the ages. He was concerned about facing Pharaoh but the answer he received fits the needs of all time.
