Ever heard of the Keto diet? Katha and I are giving it a try.
Basically, the body’s daily intake focuses on high fat, adequate protein and low carbs. The idea is to lose weight and/or inches quickly and safely.
Depending on who you speak with, the Keto diet and be controversial. Some people think it is a dangerous path to take. Others give it great praise! In this day and age it is sometimes difficult to know who to trust in the world of medicine. Everybody has an opinion with stats to back it up.
Where is the truth?
God’s Word tells me that I am “fearfully and wonderfully made.” (Psalm 139:14) My Creator makes no mistakes and is the center of all truth. I will carefully and prayerfully follow His lead and seek counsel from those who acknowledge Him.
Certainly I want to take care of my God-made body and not do anything that would harm this “shell” of my soul.
Like discipleship, diets are intentional and full of purpose. Sometimes there are plateaus that must be patiently navigated.
One of these days my earthly body will fade away, turning to dust and returning to the earth. But my heavenly body will live on!
How important, then, is it to care for the condition of my soul!? Shame on me if I care more about the temporal than the eternal.
Sure…while on this earth, I want to be a good steward of all God has given me – including my physical body. I choose to follow Him and realize that the most important things in life are things that are clearly unseen.
