Roger Miller was one of my favorite singers. Most of his songs were filled with folksy lyrics, nonsensical verbiage and unforgettable melodies. And a personal plus for me was that Roger was born in my hometown of Ft. Worth, Texas.
After such popular songs as “Do-Wacka-Do”, “King of the Road” and “Dang Me”, Roger Miller went quiet for a while. When he finally returned to the recorded music scene he published an album called Dear Folks, Sorry I Haven’t Written Lately. It included terrific original songs never before heard.
As I return to writing this blog, I will echo Roger Miller’s last album by saying, “Dear folks, Sorry I haven’t written lately.”
After taking somewhat of a sabbatical during our days in Virginia Beach where I spent time with family and our granddaughters and enjoyed traveling to Lancaster, PA, to see our grandson and invested time with my former employer, Regent University, and joined the ministerial staff of West Hampton Baptist Church – basically life happening – I have felt led to again write some thoughts that might encourage others
So…I invite you to read these once-per-week posts to hear my heart that, hopefully, will encourage yours.

Your blogs always had insight and comfort knowing that by His Spirit God speaks to each of us as He Wills and when our cup overflows we desire others to join in and share the presence of the Holy Spirit in our thought and in our hearts and by our deeds.
I look forward to hearing what God gives you to share. God Bless.
