“But the hour is coming, and is now here,
when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth,
for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.” John 4:23
There is a lot of talk these days about WORSHIP. Some of it is good and some is not. Though not an exhaustive list, here are a few things from my perspective as a Minister of Music for over fifty years:
Worship is NOT:
1. Entertainment. It is not our responsibility as believers to try and compete with or emulate the world of entertainment that we see on TV and listen to on the radio…even Christian radio. There have been songs over the radio that ministered to me at “just the right time”…but, even though it may minister to us personally, not everything we hear over the radio is conducive to corporate worship.
2. Boring. If you are bored in worship, you should take an inventory of your spiritual condition. To experience the presence of the Creator of the universe is no boring matter.
3. An Option. As believers, we are expected to worship Him. And according to the fourth chapter of John, He is looking for worshipers who will worship Him in spirit and truth. Also, recall that most important commandment
Worship IS:

1. Corporate. As mentioned above, corporate worship is a unique and rewarding experience for the body of believers. God created us to be together, and when we worship together there is an unleashing of God’s presence that is difficult to explain but a joy to behold.
2. Private. Worship should be a believer’s lifestyle. Everything we do should be pleasing to our heavenly Father. When we please Him, it is an act of worship.
3. Creative. Don’t worry if you are not a “creative” person We serve a very creative God! And He has lots of ways to draw us to Himself – even in the midst of a Coronavirus crisis. Many people confuse the creation with the Creator. Someone once said, we are never more like God than when we create. Remember, it is not the beauty of the THING we create, it is the condition of our heart that God is most concerned with. You are His creation!
So…to worship God is a privilege. Enjoy Him today.
