The kingdom long-enjoyed peace,
the king was loved by most.
The rich and poor, the young and old,
were friends from coast to coast.
The land was filled with rolling hills
beneath a clear blue sky,
And gently flowing rivers
had sweet blooms on either side.
One day a giant monster came
and changed the way of life
Of every hamlet family –
the children, man and wife.
The monster was a slimy green
with shades of dingy blue,
And eyes that glowed a crimson red
and teeth of yellow hue.
The creature slithered here and there,
destruction in its wake,
It did not care the status of
the lives it sought to take.
The rich and poor, the young and old,
all seemed an equal prey
For this devouring evil beast
unleashed this dreadful day.
Along the way the monster cried
aloud an awful roar,
Disgustingly regurgitating
on kingdom floor.
The vomit was an evil mix
of prejudice and hate,
And sealed the entire kingdom
with a devastating fate.
The kingdom, no more beautiful,
was marred forevermore,
And deep divides of prejudice
were much worse than before.
The king called for his wisest men
to come up with a plan
To kill the deadly beast
and rid this evil from the land.
Some thought the best way forward
was to stick it in the eye,
While others thought to stab it
in the heart would make it die.
Still others thought
to suffocate the monster was the way
To stop it from its evil deeds
and surely save the day.
But finally all agreed
that when the beast was being fed
They bravely had to find a way
to sever off its head.
So, that they planned and that they did
to kill the ugly beast
And bring to restoration all the land
from west to east.
The kingdom, once more beautiful,
was different than before.
This evil interruption
changed the land forevermore.
