Moving on

Honestly, I am ready to move on with my life.

It has only been a few months since resigning my last job but in someways it seems like much longer. The flexibility is nice…being able to make short trips or attack the “Honey Do” list with little or no notice. But my inner being wants to settle into a new place of ministry – adding some continuity and order to my daily schedule. Maybe it’s my age?

During these days, the world says, “Don’t wait for something good to happen. Make it happen!” But God’s word says, “Wait for the Lord. Be strong and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for the Lord.” (Psalm 27:14) So I am trying to actively wait on Him…continuing to complete online applications and network relationships but not running ahead of the Lord to try and manipulate the circumstances.

Presuming upon God = going where God is not.
Walking by faith = going where God has directed.

It’s a faith walk…and somehow I believe God is teaching me some things that He wants in my life. And I am very thankful He has opened doors for me to substitute teach for Montgomery County Public Schools. It has already been filled with major blessings.

With God at the controls there is great HOPE! And Romans 12:12 tells us what to do concerning that. Rejoice!

If you, like me, are waiting on God for a particular answer, don’t give up. The solution might just be around the next bend of the road.

  1. The “Moving On” blog was read to our Life Group Sunday AM (Ed Bucy) and fit right into the “Hall of Faith” passages we studied in Hebrews 11. We’re praying for you guys.
