What are you waiting for?

I loved my seminary course of Thessalonians.

One of the main themes of 2 Thessalonians concerns the return of Jesus Christ to this earth. Some of the people (believers) in that day decided to sit and do nothing while waiting for their Lord’s return. Problem was, it was going to be a while and there was work to be done!

waiting

Throughout the Christian world there are many thoughts and ideas about the return of Jesus. In the midst of much speculation and predictions, our seminary professor outlined three things that we know FOR SURE about His return:

  1. Jesus IS coming back.
  2. We don’t know when.
  3. Until He returns we must be busy at the task at hand.

So…sitting on one’s hands is not an option. While keeping my eyes to the skies I will pour myself into the work that He has for me!

  1. Just like the old hymn, “We’ll work. . .til Jesus comes, we’ll work . . .til Jesus comes, we’ll work. . .til Jesus comes, then we’ll be gathered home.” (The elipses were when the basses echoed “we’ll work” — used to have a lot of fun out of that one 🙂 )
